Local-first finance
Pludo Ledger begins with core financial records in storage on your browser and device. You decide which records to add, when to use optional online features, and where to keep exported backups.

Manual transactions, budgets, goals, recurring payments, and reports work from the financial record stored on your device. You can add, edit, review, and export that record without connecting a bank account or using AI.
Local-first does not mean a device is backed up by default. Clearing browser or app data, losing a device, or moving to another device without an export can remove access to local records. You can optionally turn on automatic Google Drive backup so this does not happen; see below.

Authentication and related account services require an online connection when you choose to use them.
Exchange-rate retrieval, notifications, and direct device transfer can use online services when enabled.

Export your records regularly and store the copy somewhere you trust. An export is the practical way to retain a separate copy before clearing browser data, changing devices, or making major changes to a workspace.
You can also turn on automatic Google Drive backup in Settings. It is opt-in and off by default: once turned on, Ledger backs it up in the background to a private, app-only area of your own Google Drive, not your visible Drive files and not our servers. Signing into the same Google account on a new device offers to restore it automatically.
Device storage and exports are useful controls, but they do not replace your own device security. Use screen locks, protect backup files, and review what you share with optional services.
Open Ledger to track manually, export your own backup, and use AI only when you choose.
